CANTON — A Mexico woman was arrested on a slew of charges after a Wednesday night crash on Turner Street.

Police said 20-year-old Vivian J. Fournier was driving while intoxicated when she passed several vehicles on Route 108 before crashing head-on into an oncoming car.

No serious injuries were reported, but when police first responded, they found the occupant of one vehicle trapped inside the wreckage on a stretch of Turner Street between Campbell and Maxwell Farm roads.

Several vehicles were damaged in the wreck and police shut down a section of the street, which is also Route 108, while the crash was cleaned up and an investigation began.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office investigated and charged Fournier with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving to endanger and aggravated assault.

She was taken to the Oxford County Jail in South Paris and later released on bail.

The crash remained under investigation.
