Constance L. Moreau Desjardins
LEWISTON – Constance L. Moreau Desjardins passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 31, 2025. She was born April 12, 1928, to Raoul and Aurore (Bosse) Levesque.
Constance attended St. Peters School – Cours Superieur and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1946. She would often tell us how she graduated on Friday and started her first job three days later at the State of Maine Lewiston Employment Office. She also worked at the Bates Division of Bates Manufacturing personnel department, Raytheon, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and Fortin Funeral Home.
Constance was a meticulous bookkeeper at work and at home. She volunteered at her local voting polls and was a member of the Lewiston Housing Authority Board. She also sold Avon door to door when her boys were young.
Constance lived at the same residence for 73 years and was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church until its closing.
Constance was predeceased by her parents, older brothers Gerard and Joseph Maurice Albert (AL), her first husband Maurice Moreau, her second husband Thomas Anthelme Desjardins and daughter-in-law Carol (Rich) Moreau.
Survivors include her sons (“my boys” as she referred to them) Michel (Mike) Moreau and Marc Moreau; nephews John (Marc Gup) and James Levesque; nieces Linda Levesque, Mary London (Kevin) and Lucille Scribner (Robert); stepsons Thomas (Mary Anne) and Guy (Cristel) Desjardins; step grandchildren Cinda, Rechelle, Melissa, Glen and special grandson Brian Desjardins; along with many other extended family members.
Her family would like to thank the Andwell nurses and nurses aide, Jenn, for all their help, as well as a special Thank-You to Terry, Tina, Joyce and Celeste for their compassion and wonderful care that they provided to ensure that she was able to stay in her home, as that was her final wish.
