A train and a car collided Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Water and Bridge streets in Livermore Falls after a car went through the flashing railroad signal, according to authorities.
The collision blocked traffic on both Main and Bridge streets, said Livermore Falls police Chief Abe Haroon.
The car was heading north on Bridge Street toward Cumberland Farms and the CSX Transportation train was going toward Jay, he said.
Haroon issued a civil violation summons to Lisa Deroche, 58, of Norridgewock, who allegedly failed to stop for the flashing and audible signals indicating an oncoming train, he said.
Haroon said he was not aware of any injuries resulting from the collision.
Livermore Falls and Jay fire rescue departments provided traffic control. Traffic was halted for about one hour, Haroon said.
