Bruce W. Roberts

OXFORD – Bruce W. Roberts, 65, of Oxford, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, after several years of declining health. Born in Norway on June 10, 1960, he was the son of Leslie and Georgena (Buck) Roberts. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Oxford Hills High School, class of 1978.

Bruce made a career working as a meat cutter. H&E Meats was a favorite spot for him through the years. He started his retail career at the First National Store in South Paris when he was a teenager, and was currently working part time for Oxford Hannaford where he had been an employee for over 40 years.

Bruce enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and sitting in his chair telling stories with family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports. He was an avid Boston Celtics fan but most of all loved watching his grandson, Carter, play baseball and bragging to everyone all about him!

Bruce is survived by his son, Brent Roberts and wife Ashley of Oxford; daughter, Blair Davis and husband Michael of Hebron; grandsons, Carter, Dylan and Jordan Davis; his twin sister, Brenda Shelton and husband David of Oxford; sisters, Marilyn Foster and husband Robert of Newcastle; Linda Hoyt of South Paris; Carolee Masselli and husband John of Chiefland, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Georgena Roberts; and sister, Ruth Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 from 2-4 p.m., with words from Rev. Mayberry at 3 p.m., to be held at the Paris Fire Department, 137 Western Ave., South Paris. A private family burial will be held later in May. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
