LISBON – Michael Allen Perkins, 72, of Lisbon, passed away unexpectedly due to a medical event on Jan. 19, 2026.
He was born July 9, 1953, in Lewiston, the third of four children born to John W. Perkins and Wilma E. McDonald Perkins, and was raised in Lisbon.
Michael graduated from Lisbon High School, Class of 1971. He later earned an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement Technology from SMVTI, and an Associate Degree in Business from CMCC in 2011.
Michael spent much of his career in the textile industry, beginning at Camden Yarns in Lisbon and later working for Formed Fiber Technologies for 24 years. He started as a machine operator and retired as a Quality Control Liaison. In retirement, Michael remained active, working in pest control with Bug Beaters and Ants Plus.
Michael’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted member of Lisbon Falls Baptist Church, where he participated in men’s ministries, organized retreats, hosted movie nights, and faithfully served as church custodian.
On June 30, 1984, Michael married Joanne Despres Perkins. Together they blended their families, raising four sons in a loving home.
Michael is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanne Perkins of Lisbon; sons Christopher Perkins (Sarah) of Gorham, Donald Perkins (Kara) of Lisbon, Kristopher Bouchard (Heidi) of Auburn, and Craig Bouchard (Jessica) of Lewiston; grandchildren Owen, Gwen, Nicholas, Piper, Preston, Kiley, Caleb, Caiden, Isabelle, and Kenadi; brothers Brad Perkins (Rhonda) of New Gloucester and Scott Perkins (Bonnie) of Sabattus.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, John “Butch” Perkins; and his grandson, Logan Perkins.
Visitation and services will be held at Lisbon Falls Baptist Church, 555 Lisbon St., Lisbon Falls. Visiting hours will be Saturday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 1, at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception in the Family Life Center.
