Maurice R. Gagne
LEWISTON – Maurice R. Gagne, 77, fondly known as “Moe”, died Jan. 20, 2026 at the Andwell Hospice House.
Moe was born Dec. 31, 1948 to Anne Marie (Metivier) and Reginald Gagne. He attended Holy Cross School and was a graduate of Lewiston High School class of 1967.
Moe served in the Army from 1968-1973 in Germany. Having learned to weld with his dad at a young age, he went on to own Moe’s Welding and Fabrication. He was a well-respected, honest and dedicated business man. He was truly a “perfectionist.”
On Sept. 9, 1972, he married the love of his life, Joline Pelletier Gagne, who survives him. He was a proud Dad and Pepere. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey, and his partner, Tammy Morris, and their son Lyric; daughter, Amy Gagne and her husband Noel Madore, and their daughter Marion; brother-in-law, JR Pelletier and family; and sister, Sue Albert and family.
Moe was predeceased by his parents; in-laws, Lionel and Jeanette Pelletier; brother-in-law, Roland Pelletier; and stillborn son in 1976.
Mo enjoyed fishing and hunting with cousins Marcel, Mike and Marc (the M&Ms).

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m.to 12 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 27, followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 12 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
