I would like to say many thanks for the wonderful “In the Field” columns from Ron Joseph. He has become my favorite writer in your paper. I just finished his recent piece about bunking with Quebecois loggers near Clayton Lake.
It brought back memories from my youth, as one summer I had three camp counselors from Quebec, who took us on long canoe and backpacking trips in Northern Maine. They were fun, colorful and talented outdoorsmen and musicians. This was over 50 years ago but I will never forget them.
Ron is truly a treasure. I only wish he was featured more often.
