Cecile V. Burgoyne
SOUTH PARIS – Cecile V. Burgoyne, a woman of deep strength, dedicated service and generosity, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2026 in South Paris at the age of 98.
Born in 1927 in Howland Maine, Cecile grew up with hard working values of Northern Maine. Her life was defined by a trail blazing spirit; she answered the call to serve her country by joining the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Her time in the military remained a great source of pride throughout her life, reflecting her courage and commitment to others. She will be remembered as a pioneer of her generation- a woman of humor, strength and independence who left the world a warmer place through her service and her art.
She was survived by her sister, Blanche Mills; her niece, Karen Long, her nephew, Dennis Mills; great-nephew, Timothy Mills and great-niece, Brittany Mills.
A celebration of Cecile’s life with military honors will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta on June 11 at 2 p.m. To view a full obituary and to offer word condolences and memories please visit fortinandpinettegrouplewiston.com.
