POLAND — A Raymond woman died this week as the result of injuries suffered in head-on collision Feb. 10 on Plains Road.

Police said Brittaney Rogers, 36, was riding in the back of a Jeep driven by 26-year-old Dylan Sanphy of Gorham, who was also killed in the wreck.

Investigators said Sanphy had been trying to pass another vehicle when he slammed head-on into an oncoming pickup truck.

Sanphy was killed instantly in the crash. Rogers was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she was being treated. Authorities said she died on Monday.

Police said Rogers was one of two women riding in the back of the Jeep when it crashed. Neither was wearing a seat belt, investigators said.

A passenger who had been riding in the front of the Jeep was belted and is expected to recover.

Edward Morris, 52, of Mechanic Falls was driving the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was struck by the Jeep. Morris was traveling west and hauling a snowmobile trailer, police said.

Morris survived the crash with only minor injuries.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash, with assistance from the Mechanic Falls Police Department, Oxford Fire-Rescue, and Auburn Fire-Rescue.
