Brooklyn Kalmikov and Max Andreev scored in a span of 1:19 in the third period, lifting the Maine Mariners to a 4-3 win over the Bloomington Bison in an ECHL game Saturday night in Bloomington, Illinois.
It’s the fourth straight win for the Mariners, all on the road. They complete a three-game weekend series against Bloomington on Sunday.
Maine led 1-0 after one period, thanks to a goal from Liam Gorman. Mitch Deelstra made it 2-0 early in the second, but Bloomington got goals from Mikael Robidoux later in the second and Mark Kaleinikovas early in the third to tie the game.
Kalmikov then put the Mariners back in front with his 14th goal of the season at 6:15 of the third. Moments later, Kalmikov assisted on a power-play goal by Andreev.
Former University of New England goalie Billy Girard stopped 22 shots to earn his first ECHL victory.
