BANGOR – Cynthia “Cindy” Johnson, 73, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2026, with family at her side.
Cindy was born in Springfield, Mass. to Roland and Ellen Sawyer on Jan. 25, 1953. She married Harry Olaf Johnson on Aug. 19, 1972. In 1987, the two purchased farm land in North Amity, Maine, dubbing it “Moosehill Farm” after she placed a life-sized moose silhouette in the field visible to passers by.
Cindy worked as an office administrator for various companies such as the University of Maine, James W. Sewall, and St. Joseph’s Hospital throughout her career, relocating in 1997 to Carmel with her family for employment. She enjoyed many interests throughout her life such as raising Huskies, crafting, and singing. She took great joy in making others smile and used her creativity and kindness to bring beauty to the world.
Cindy is survived by her three children, Audrey Jacobs of Topsham, Torey Olaf Johnson of Canton, and Stephanie Farquhar of Bangor. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Anders Johnson, Ava Farquhar, and Seamus Farquhar.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the team at Westgate Center for Rehabilitation and Alzheimer’s Care for the phenomenal care they provided Cindy in her final years and to St. Joseph Hospital for the care and compassion they demonstrated in her passing.
