David John Berube

LEWISTON – It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of David John Berube on Feb. 15, 2026.

Born on March 28, 1963, David was the beloved son of Roger L. Berube and Jeanne D’Arc Berube. He was born and raised in Lewiston where he attended Lewiston schools. As a young boy, David was a dedicated member of the Cub Scouts. David was also a member of Holy Family Parish.

David began his strong work career as an oil burner technician for Dead River Company and then as an electrician at Bath Iron Works.

David loved his family immensely and cherished spending time with them at family gatherings and holidays throughout the years. David had a passion for the great outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing. David’s special moments included hunting often with his brother Paul and his great caribou hunting expedition to Canada with his father. David would often invite family members to go fishing with him, often returning with a large fish.

David will always be remembered for his warmth, gentleness, great sense of humor, and his love and caring for all. David continued to help his parents until his passing.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his brother, Paul Berube and his wife Coreena Berube, his sister, Tina Whipkey and her husband Donald George; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces, great-nephews; and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home in Lewiston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Holy Family Church also in Lewiston.
