Rita Rena Brackett

LACONIA, N.H. – Rita Rena Brackett, 97, of Laconia, N.H., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Aug. 6, 1928, in Berlin, N.H., she was the treasured daughter of the late Willie Arthur Dubois and Alida Susan Dubois.

Rita lived a long and beautiful life anchored in faith, integrity, and love. She truly lived for the Lord Jesus, and her devotion was felt by everyone who knew her. She cherished her family deeply-both her own and her church families in Laconia and Norway, Maine. Her life was a living example of the virtues found in Proverbs 31:10-31-strength, compassion, and endless generosity.

A devoted mother, Rita is survived by her sister, Aurore Marcoux; her children Donald E. Crocker, Jr. and his wife Cynthia, Diane E. Delano, Dana E. Crocker, Doris E. Brady and her husband Michael, Denise E. Tennyson and her husband Nieves, and Carol Brody. Her legacy continues through eight beloved grandchildren, Glen Giasson, Eric Crocker, Malcolm Delano, Danaben Crocker, Joshua Crocker, Angela Coppola, Anthony Reddic, and Christopher Reddic; and 14 great-grandchildren who will carry her love and lessons forward.

Rita’s hands and heart were never idle. She found joy in hard work and service, whether baking and canning for others, sewing and knitting mittens for family and friends, or sharing laughter over a competitive game of Skipbo. She was happiest in the great outdoors-camping, hiking, or simply enjoying God’s creation-and she adored the company of her animals throughout her lifetime.

Rita will be laid to rest at Pikes Hill Cemetery in Norway on Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Oxford Hills Christian Fellowship in Norway. Refreshments and reminiscing of a beautiful life will follow.
