One of the busiest places in Norway over February break was the Warming Hut and Bruce Fox Memorial Ice Rink on Cottage Street.
Norway Recreation Director Deven Pendexter said the rink was open every day of vacation.
“Tuesday night we held a skate party from 7-9 p.m., and about 80 kids showed up for that,” Pendexter said.

The rink got so much use it had to be resurfaced with fresh ice every morning and Pendexter spent a good part of his day pushing loose ice to the edges with a snow shovel.
Thursday, Feb. 19, the ice was open for community skating, but it was not just the locals coming out to skate. Pendexter said earlier that day two groups of about 30 — from Lewiston and Portland — had booked skating parties at the Warming Hut.

Norway Brewing took over a spot at the Warming Hut, as they have each February vacation week for the last few years, coming out to serve hot cocoa to all the skaters.
The hut had plenty of skates for free rental from toddler sizes to men’s 13, as well as kids’ helmets.
