Breeze Airways will add flights from the Portland International Jetport to Ohio, South Carolina and Georgia this summer.

The carrier announced Tuesday that it will add seasonal nonstop flights to Akron-Canton Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport twice a week. Breeze will also expand an existing nonstop route to Columbus to four times a week.

Travelers will also be able to book seasonal, one-stop flights to Myrtle Beach and Savannah. Passengers will not need to change planes on those stops.

All changes will start the first week of July.

“Portland is a growing and vibrant community, and Breeze is happy to be adding more great destinations for travelers in the community,” David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, said in a news release. “All of these destinations offer great amenities for beach vacations, visiting friends and family, and so much more.”

Last year was the busiest ever for the jetport with nearly 2.6 million passengers. Traffic has been steadily increasing every year since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. American Airlines carried nearly one-third of those people and Breeze accounted for more than 180,000 travelers, or more than 7 percent, according to the airport.
