Arthur R. Moore
NORWAY – Arthur R. Moore, 98, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1927, in Chelsea, Mass., the son of the late Zebedee and Selina (King) Moore.
Arthur graduated from the Revere, Mass. school system and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. He graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass. and started his career as a tool and die maker.
He married the love of his life Lorraine King on June 9, 1949, and together they created a loving family of five children.
Arthur was an avid golfer playing many courses in Maine and Florida. He loved his summers at his home on the lake in Maine and most of all he loved his family and having them around him.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lorraine; and his parents, Zebedee and Selina Moore; also, two brothers, Albert and William Moore; and son-in-law, Bob McKenna; life partners Don Sands and Tim Boucher to Elaine and Karen respectively.
He is survived by his five children, Donald Moore and wife Theresa, Karen Moore, Elaine Reitchel, Nancy McKenna, Terry Moore and wife Colleen; six grandchildren, Kim Kannaley, Bob McKenna II, Andy McKenna, Scott McKenna, Rachel Moore, and Steven Moore; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan Kannaley, Maggie McKenna, Sabrinah Gaudreau, Skylar Gaudreau, Selena McKenna, Robert McKenna, James McKenna, Richard McCue, Aria McCue.
Arthurs family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses. The amazing nurses that cared for him. Thank you for your care, compassion, and love that you gave to Arthur, you are truly a part of our family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremations Services, 45 Main St. South Paris. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn in the spring.
