Donna “Lou” (Gagnon) Park

DIXFIELD – Donna was born on March 4, 1939, to Donald and Barbara (Welch) Gagnon of Dixfield, where she was raised and attended school. She was an excellent student in the “commercial” course and, prior to graduation, was hired to work at Rumford Falls Bank & Trust in Dixfield. After high school, she married Edward Park of Mexico, and they raised one daughter, Terri Lynn. Donna was known for her bookkeeping/secretarial skills and her sparkling personality. She was never at a loss for job offers; most notably, she worked at the Bank and later for the Stowell family (United Timber) for many years.

Donna has often been described, by her daughter and many others, as “the nicest person you could ever meet” and she was blessed with many close family and friends. She and Eddie lived in the Skowhegan area for several years (1982-2017) when he was offered a position with S. D. Warren in Hinckley. During that time, they enjoyed a lot of time with their grandson, Gregory, doing many outdoor activities (bird hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping). For nine years, they kept a seasonal lot at Natanis Point (Chain of Ponds) in Coburn Gore, where they explored and created many happy memories. Most recently, following Ed’s death in 2017, Donna was welcomed back to Dixfield to live with Terri. Being the best of friends, they have shared many laughs and good times with each other and family.

Donna was predeceased by her husband; her mother and father; two brothers, Ronald and Randall Gagnon, brother-in-law, Ron Davis, and Terri’s fiancé, Randy Blodgett.

She is survived by her only child, Terri Park Cox; grandson, Gregory Cox (partner Lilly) and his two daughters, Everly Mae and Eliotte Elizabeth, who have spent countless precious moments with “Nan”; her sister, Gayle Davis of Weld/Naples Fla., and two special sisters-in-law, Joanna (Park) Batherson of Sacramento, Calif. and Alice (Fuller/Gagnon) Clark of Dixfield; along with many other very dear family members who include Todd, Silas and Austin Blodgett, Matthew and Michael Smith, Silas Blodgett, Michael and Marcia Cox; Michelle Cox and Jennifer (Cox) Szafran; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very dear friend, Anne Herrin, of Canaan.

Donna loved music and, until the very end, would sing and dance when a favorite song played. She loved to laugh and welcomed any funny story or joke. Gregory and “Nan” shared a very special bond, and he could always make her laugh out loud! She was a devout fan of the Boston Bruins and would wear her logo clothing on game nights to cheer them on.

She will be deeply missed. Believing that she has entered a world without pain makes it bearable. As a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was always there for others, it is certain that Donna was warmly welcomed by many when she crossed the bridge to Heaven.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jessica King and the nurses at Elsemore-Dixfield Clinic as well as the Andwell Hospice staff for their time, care and devotion. She passed peacefully at home early Sunday, March 29, with Terri holding her hand.

At Donna’s request, there will be no service at this time.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, where memories, photos and condolences may be shared at http://www.dsfuneral.com
