FARMINGTON — A stress management workshop for patients with cancer will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Both traditional and holistic approaches will be explored to help patients diagnosed with cancer understand and manage their stressors.

Topics will include nutrition, relaxation techniques, managing one’s emotions and reflexology. The panel of health professionals will include Dr. Dennis Kamholtz; Jason Steinhouser, DC; Beth Jennings, LCPC; Sandy Webber, LMT; and Sara Mulvey, owner and instructor at Source 365.

Emily Loring, a community health major at the University of Maine at Farmington who is doing an internship at Franklin Memorial Hospital, is organizing the workshop.

“The goal of this workshop is to give patients a variety of ways to improve their overall health by making small daily changes to their lifestyles to reduce stressors on the body,” she said.

The workshop is free and space is limited. Advanced registration is required by Friday, April 1. Refreshments and snacks will be provided and all participants will be entered into the raffle to win a free gift bag. To reserve a seat, contact Tracy Harty at 778-2830.
