In the Sun Journal puff piece about Gov. Paul LePage (March 17), the writer notes that LePage is the first Franco governor of Maine. Not true, never been true and I wish the Sun Journal would get it right.

Alonzo Garcelon was governor from 1879 to 1880 (there were two-year terms back then and well into the 20th century). Garcelon was also a Republican and actually was a founder of the Lewiston Journal. There are things named after him in both cities.

That the Sun Journal would continue to get that wrong is remarkable.
