PARIS — The first meeting of the Paris Cape Historical Society will be held on July 15, 2021 at 7 p.m. at its museum on High Street. Ben Conant will speak on the 40 year history of the society.
The first meeting of the society was held in 1981 at the South Paris Library. Stan Howe gave information on how to form the society. Early on we moved to the Paris Fire Hall on Pine Street. Over the years the society has met in several places, winding up at our present building on High Street. In 2016 we added an addition to the building. The society maintains a collection which includes books and artifacts.
The museum is open every Thursday afternoon from one to four. The public is welcome. The Paris Cape Historical Society encourages interested parties to join.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
