The longball helped Pastime Club take both of its games in a three-way doubleheader Saturday at Hosmer Field Athletic Complex in Rumford, defeating Franklin County 11-0 and Turner 9-5.

In its first game, against Franklin, Pastime took a 3-0 lead before the Flyers recorded an out when Damon Bossie belted a three-run home run in the first inning. Levi Levesque and Brandon Farinas added RBI singles in the first to give Pastime a quick 7-0 cushion.

Pastime added three more runs in the third inning to round out its scoring. Caleb Valliere had three hits for Pastime, while Bossie, Levesque and Luke Josephson each finished with two. Valliere pitched a complete game to earn the win, striking out nine batters and holding the Flyers to four hits.

In the first inning of the second game against the Turner SR Bandits, Michael Dymkoski, lined a two-run homer in the first inning to give Pastime a 2-0 lead, again before any outs were recorded.

The Bandits, though, held off Pastime for the next three innings and scored five runs in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. Pastime got one run back in the fifth and another in the sixth to cut Turner’s advantage to 5-4.

Brandon Farinas and Patrick Anthoine led off Pastime’s half of the seventh with with back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Josephson to hit a three-run homer that gave the Lewiston-based club a 7-5 lead. Pastime added two more runs in the frame to extend its lead to 9-5.

Anthoine then fanned two batters in the bottom of the seventh to secure Pastime’s second victory of the day. Anthoine, who finished with four strikeouts in three innings of relief, earned the win. Josephson, Valliere and Anctil each had two hits for Pastime.

Matt Wallingford and Cole Brown had two hits apiece for Turner. Garrett Mollica pitched six strong innings. Brown pitched in the seventh inning and took the loss.
