Kathleen ”Kat” Julie (Bourassa) Waterman

EUSTIS – Kathleen ”Kat” Julie (Bourassa) Waterman, 61, a resident of Jay, passed away suddenly, Sunday, July 11, 2021 while gardening at her fiancé’s home in Eustis. She was born Oct. 4, 1959 in Waterville, the daughter of Lionel “Lee” Bourassa and Evangeline “Van” (Pellerin) Bourassa.

She was a 1977 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. She received her LPN in 1978, and worked at the doctor’s office of Sanford, Drouin and Levine in Lewiston, and with Dr. Claxton at CMMC Family Medicine in Lewiston. She currently had a small arts and crafts business, “Wreaths from the Woods” making beautiful wreaths and other items to sell.

In 1982 she married William Waterman and they welcomed their children, Samuel, Megan and Molly. Kathy took time off from work to raise her children. Kathy loved time with her friends and family, especially her five grandchildren. She enjoyed time in her gardens, had a love of horses, and taking care of her mini farm as the children grew. She loved snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, and riding her scooter with her good friend Margaret Leclerc and Laurie Therrien, and especially time in Eustis with her love and fiancé, Rod Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Megan Lola Waterman of Gardiner, and Molly Ann Waterman and companion Matthew Thibodeau of Lewiston; grandchildren, Brayden, Genevieve, Griffin, Zellie and George; sisters, Melissa (Stephen) Rockwood of Ellsworth, Ann (Scott) Mayer of South Portland, Paula Bourassa of Saco, and brother Gerard (Wendy Laverdiere) Bourassa of Jay, her fiancé, Rod Smith of Eustis, her former husband Bill (Sarah) Waterman of Litchfield, and family friend, Nick Grant of Litchfield. She was predeceased by her loving son, Samuel Lee Waterman,her parents, her paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., on Saturday, July 17 at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours will be 4-6 p.m. on Friday, July 16 at the funeral home. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Road, Sabattus, Maine.
