I thought the big issue last fall was jobs in Maine. So what is all the fuss about voter fraud and bills requiring photo IDs and doing away with same-day voter registration?

I know from following the information that there is practically no history of voter fraud in Maine. All the proposal will do is make it inconvenient and even impossible for people to vote.

Maine Republicans have got the wrong idea if they think this is why they were elected. All elected officials have a shared responsibility to protect the sanctity of democracy and support the public’s right to cast a ballot without jumping through hoops.

Please, let’s get back to solving real problems such as the lack of jobs and the funding for education and infrastructure.
