Edward G. Brown Jr.
LEWISTON – Edward G. Brown, Jr., 72, of Hartford passed away unexpectedly at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 3, 1949 in Bridgton, the son of Edward G., Sr. and Marjy (Wentworth) Brown.
Edward graduated from Oxford Hills High School and enlisted into the US Navy serving for 20 years until retirement.
After the service to his country, he remained very busy driving truck for various transportation companies and moved to Virginia where he did sawmill work.
Edward was an active member of the Norway American Legion until moving to Hartford where he was a member of the Buckfield American Legion. In his younger years he raised prize roses; later in life he enjoyed maintaining a flower garden. He loved to travel and also enjoyed working with wood, everything from building furniture to remodeling kitchens and homes.
He is survived by his life partner of 25 years Janet Nickerson; his mother Marjy Sessions; three stepdaughters; three brothers Scott Sessions and wife Susan, Sumner Sessions and wife Janet, and Sam Sessions and wife Holly; Aunt Van; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nieces, two nephews; and many cousins.
Edward was predeceased by an infant brother Michael Brown; his father Edward, Sr., his stepfather Robert Sessions; grandparents Everett and Jessie Brown.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris
