AUBURN — Felicien E. Doucette, 98, of Auburn, died on March 21, at Bolster Heights Nursing Home.
He was born in Lewiston, June 6, 1912, the son of Emery and Philomene Chatel Doucette. He was educated in Lewiston schools. He graduated from Robert’s Business Academy in 1927, and Lewiston High School in 1931. Very athletic in his younger years, he was a member of the Lewiston High School and the Cyclones hockey championship teams of the 1930s.
He was married to the former Gladys Morrill, who died in 1976. He was in the jewelry business from 1929 to 1979. A member of the Sacred Heart Church Choir for 24 years, he was one of the first 10 to start the credit union at Scared Heart Church, and was on the supervisory committee for two terms.
Known for his singing voice, he appeared in many musicals, minstrels, and entertained senior citizens at nursing homes. He was a member of Musical Literary Club and the Eagles for 26 years.
Survivors include a son, Roger and wife, Joanne, of Auburn; a daughter, Constance Delano of Boston, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
