FARMINGTON — Slick roads Tuesday morning caused a vehicle and dump truck crash on the Farmington Falls Road.
Joseph Santana, 18, of Vienna lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to stop at the stop sign on Croswell Road at the intersection with Farmington Falls Road, also known as Route 2, Farmington Police officer Ted Neil said.
The vehicle struck the gas tank on the side of a dump truck driven by Merrill Hall, 63, of Strong.
Neither driver was injured in the 7:30 a.m. accident, but Santana’s 2000 Subaru was totaled and the gas tank on the passenger side of the truck was ruined, Neil said.
Farmington Fire and Rescue was called to deal with the spilled gasoline.
Neil estimated $3,000 damage to the dump truck and $6,000 to the Subaru.
