Computer Basics will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for six weeks beginning Monday, April 4. Topics will include mouse skills, navigating files and folders, launching programs, creating, opening and saving files, word processing and spreadsheets, going online, emailing and searching the Internet.
AAA Safe Driving for Mature Operators will run from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. A video and lecture course designed to increase driving awareness for those 55 and older qualifies for Maine’s mandatory insurance premium discount for 55+.
Beginning Astanga Yoga will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. for six weeks starting Monday, April 4. In Astanga Yoga, flow of movements powered by energetic breath is the focus of the practice.
Numerology 101 will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 14. Participants will be introduced to the ancient art of numerology, one of the oldest forms of divination. They will complete their own chart and learn how to interpret it.
Nutrient Dense Foods for Optimal Health will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. Dr. Weston Price traveled the world and the class will cover the 10 types of food and eating principles he discovered.
Pet First Aid will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. The course uses video-based instruction and hands-on activities to teach the basics of first aid and emergency care for cats and dogs. Topics include controlling bleeding, splinting muscle, bone or joint injuries and helping a choking pet. American Red Cross is the instructor.
Pottery – Come Create with Your Child will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. for seven weeks starting Tuesday, April 26. It is an adult and child class for ages 8 and up. Create finished clay pieces experimenting with basic hand building techniques as well as “throwing” pottery on the wheel. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
Reiki II will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 28. Participants will learn additional symbols, In Absentia (long distance) healing and receive a second attunement increasing the ability to channel energy.
Self-Defense for the Mature Adult will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 28. The class is designed to teach adults age 55 and up the skills needed to defend themselves if attacked.
Stress Buster, from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 25, will rejuvenate mind, body and spirit using a verbally guided exercise with Hemi-Sync frequencies.
West Coast Swing II: Beyond Basics will take place from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. for six weeks beginning Tuesday, April 26. The class will build on the foundations taught in West Coast Swing I. No partners required.
Introduction to Computers will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. for two weeks starting Tuesday, April 12. The hands-on class will help understand why and how hardware and software works. It will also cover the basics of creating an email address and understanding the web.
Web Site Design and Management, from 6 to 9 p.m., will start Wednesday, April 6, and run for six weeks. Participants will learn how to use Google sites to create a free, business or personal website.
Digital Photo Uses will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for five weeks starting Tuesday, April 5. Learn how to email photos, create digital scrapbooks and create photo slides shows (movies). As a bonus, learn how to take the best possible photo and fix those one-in-a-million photos that are slightly off.
