Cody Merrill, 15, and his father, Justin Merrill, left, remove the front subframe Monday from Cody’s Pontiac Grand Am race car in Lisbon. The Lisbon High School junior started racing this year at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford with a lot of help from his father, mother Kasie Kolbe, and stepfather, Peter Kolbe. Cody Merrill rolled his car four times and landed upside down during a Friday night Oxford Acceleration Series race. “I have some work to do,” he said. Justin Merrill, 39, raced until he had two children. “Not anymore. Don’t have the time,” he said, but he still has a hand in fixing race cars. “Been working on cars since I was 14,” he said.
