Joseph A.A. Lebrun
LEWISTON – Joseph A.A. Lebrun, 94, of 10 Oak Street, Lewiston, died at his home on Thursday, August 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born in Lewiston on Nov. 29, 1926, he was the son of Emile and Blanche Roux Lebrun.
Educated in local schools, he married Rolande Y. Garneau on Sep. 11, 1948. A devoted husband and father, he worked for LA United Groceries and also at Bates College in the Maintenance Department.
Joseph was an outdoors man, he loved fishing, camping, and hunting. In his later years he enjoyed playing bingo. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and loved cuddling his great-granddaughter, Nia.
A member of the former St. Joseph’s Church and a Communicant of Both Holy Family and Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica, he is survived by three sons, Raynald and wife Linda of Augusta, Leo and wife Priscilla of Lewiston, and Steve and wife Jackie of Greene, three daughters, Mirelle and husband Richard Sutton of Turner, Diane and husband Dana Becvar of Auburn, and Lorraine and husband Orel Desjardins of Bowdoinham; a sister, Murielle Mills; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Paul, Marcell, Richard, Gerry, and Andy.
His family would like to thank everyone at Oak Park, the staff of Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice, and especially his caregiver, granddaughter Megan Becvar-Venable, for all the loving care they gave him during his final illness.
Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 25, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica, Lower Chapel, at 1 p.m. Services will conclude with committal prayers and military honors graveside at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
