LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall on March 28 with 24 members and four guests attending.
Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for the departed members and for men and women serving in the armed forces. She also asked that members keep the family of John Judd in their prayers. Judd was commander of the local VFW and died on March 24.
Rep. Paul Gilbert introduced former Rep. Jim Campbell, Katie Dunton, communications director, Glenn Griswold, consumer health representative, and Mike Maillett, property and casualty representative from the Maine Bureau of Insurance, who spoke to the group on changes in Medicare, scams and other concerns.

Joseph Slovak was welcome back from a long absence. Pauline Coombs is on the sick list. Couture wished a “Happy Birthday” to those celebrating birthdays this month.
Beano will be played on Monday, April 4. There will be no meeting on Monday, April 11. On the following week, Monday, April 18, the group will celebrate Easter with a noon meal.
The 50/50 was won by Ellie Mitchell, and door prizes, donated by Theresa Bilodeau and Alice DeMoras, were won by Nancy Couture and Joseph Slovak. Following the meeting refreshments, donated by Elvina Mitchell, Marie Gagnon and Shirley Couture, were served.
