Stephanie R. Wilcox

SOUTH PARIS – Stephanie R. Wilcox, 78 of South Paris, passed away on Sunday August 29, 2021, at Stephens Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Portland on Dec. 1, 1942, a daughter of the late James F. Jr. and Gertrude M. (Moulton) Reynolds. A 1961 graduate of Paris High School in South Paris, she attended the Laconia School of Nursing earning her Registered Nurse Diploma. Ms. Wilcox worked in Morristown, N.J. before beginning a 34-year career as a special care unit nurse at Stephens Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2007.She was a proud Mainer, she cheered for her Patriots fiercely. She loved listening to music of all kinds. She loved her pets, every single one capturing a bit of her heart, and always her loyalty. She was a loyal friend, loved her family and at her core a caregiver and mentor to many new nurses, including her daughter.Surviving are her daughter, Kerri Ayers and her husband Adam of South Paris; niece, Debra Johns and her husband Lennart of Hamden, Conn.; granddaughter, Jessica Wilcox of Cape Cod, Mass., granddaughter, Caitlin Bradshaw and her husband John of Taylorville, N.C., grandniece, Alexandra Johns of Milwaukee, grandnephew, David Johns of Hamden, Conn.; stepdaughter, Cheryl Worrell of Goose Creek, S.C. and stepson, David Wilcox Jr. of Jackson, Wyo. A graveside service will be held on Saturday Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. in the Forest Hill Cemetery, in Bridgton .
