NORTH TURNER — Ivan L. “Buddy” Parlin, 67, a resident of North Turner, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 30, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born April 22, 1943, in Lewiston, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Campbell) Parlin. Ivan went to school in South Paris. On Jan. 10, 1998, in Lewiston, he married Elaine Shelton. Ivan owned and operated Novus Windshield Repair in North Turner for the past 33 years, receiving many awards through the years and was inducted into the Novus Hall of Fame in 2010.
He was a member and elder of the North Turner Union Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, harness racing, trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Ivan also enjoyed his grand dog, Bandit, and sharing popsicles with him; gardening, and family gatherings on the fourth of July, his grandchildren who called him “Grampie” and “Bubby”. Ivan was well-known throughout the community and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Parlin of North Turner; his son, Lawrence I. Parlin “Rusty” and his wife, Doreen, of Buxton; daughters, Penny L. Litchfield and her husband, Kevin, of Strongsville, Ohio, and Cindy S. Hall of Auburn; grandchildren, Danyelle Samson, Nickolas Hall, Eric Gerrish, Rusty Parlin Jr., Ryan Parlin, Derica Sawyer, Faith Litchfield and Caleb Litchfield; brothers, Everett Parlin, Lawrence Parlin Jr., Joseph Parlin, Roger Parlin and Robert Steven Parlin; sisters, Patricia Davis, Betty Foster and Yvonne Falley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine Fowler Parlin; and his brothers, Gerald Parlin and Frank Keene.
