AUBURN — Therese C. Provencher, 85, of Fairmont Avenue, Auburn died Monday, April 4, at Clover Health Care with family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, July 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Henri and Marie Anne (Lessard) Leverdiere. She attended local schools. On Aug. 12, 1944, she married Henry R. Provencher, who died in October 1972.

She worked at the former McGee Market, Gene’s Corner Store, Central Maine Medical Center and in retirement, she worked at her daughter, Cecile’s daycare. She enjoyed flower gardening and flowers, reading and was a member of the Sacred Heart Golden Age Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Cecile Cote and her husband, Gil, of Auburn; one son, Normand Provencher and his wife, Janice, of Pembroke, N.H.; a daughter-in-law, Diane Provencher of Lisbon; 10 grandchildren, Douglas and his wife, November, Eric and his fiancee, Marie, Cindy and her friend, Claire, Lianna and her husband, Carl, Kevin and his wife, Stacy, Susan and her husband, Michael, Corey and his wife, Abby, Mark, Matthew and his wife, Heather and Devin and her husband, Shane; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Irene Provencher in 1947; a son, Peter Provencher in 2010; five brothers; and three sisters.
