MEXICO — The Mexico Police Department responded to 52 calls from March 28 until April 6, including the following.
Arrest
Floyd Patrick, 31, of Baldwin Street, Livermore Falls, on a charge of felony theft from Walmart on April 2. Patrick is accused of taking about $2,000 in electronics. Police recovered some of the items. He was released from the Mexico Police Department on $3,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Oxford County Superior Court on July 5. Patrick is still under investigation in connection with another theft of electronics from Walmart the week before.
Car-moose accident
Carolyn A. Merrill, 64, of Roxbury Road, Roxbury, hit a moose at 11:19 p.m., April 1, as she was driving a 2003 GMC pickup north on the Roxbury Road. The animal was killed. The pickup sustained $2,000 damage.
Accident
Vehicles driven by Robert C. Scott, 51, of Peru, and June S. Smith, 48, of Sweet Avenue, Mexico, collided at 11:45 a.m., April 1, at the intersection of River Road and the entrance to the Oxford Federal Credit Union. Scott’s 2009 Chevrolet pickup sustained $3,000 damage. Smith’s 1994 Chevrolet pickup sustained $1,500 damage.
