PORTLAND — Dawn Stiles, president of Spurwink Services, joined the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation, Harvard Pilgrim employees and local nonprofit leaders to celebrate exceptional volunteer contributions to the local community.

The Employee Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Harvard Pilgrim employee Tony Fournier for his work planting and harvesting organic vegetable gardens at the Harvard Pilgrim Portland office. With his help, 72 pounds of produce was donated to a local food pantry. Fournier is a resident of Auburn.

In 2010, the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation and Harvard Pilgrim employees raised $103,000 through the employee fundraising campaign; distributed more than $450,000 in community spirit 9/11 mini-grants; and fixed, painted and landscaped Camp Sunshine in Casco for the hundreds of children with life-threatening illnesses who visit each year.
