JAY — Four people were injured Sunday when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Smith Avenue and Route 4, police Chief Richard Caton IV said Monday.

A 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Cleon Fletcher, 94, of Wilton turned from Smith Avenue onto Route 4 as a a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Jason Roberts, 42, of Industry, was headed south on Route 4.

Fletcher and his passenger, Emily Fletcher, 90, and Roberts and his passenger, Ella Roberts, 14, were taken to a hospital by a NorthStar EMS ambulance. It was unclear what hospital they were taken to.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash, which was reported at 12:36 p.m.

Officer Dan Demers was assisted by Jay Fire Rescue Department.
