AUBURN — Jane M. (Shubert) Lane, 93, of Schooner Estates passed into eternal life on April 12, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
She was born in Auburn, May 16, 1917, to the late Albert and Mary (Fusiek) Shubert and was educated in Lewiston schools.
On June 28, 1942, she married Harold E. Lane and they were lifelong residents of Lewiston and Bailey Island. Mr. Lane died on Dec. 15, 1999.
Jane was a communciant of St. Patrick’s Church and the last founding member of the Palmyra Club.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Lane of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, William N. Lane and wife, Deborah, of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Christopher T. Munroe and wife, Stacy, Matthew S. Munroe and wife, Jessica, Stephanie L. Proctor, William K. Lane and wife, Melissa, Jennifer L. Lane and Rebecca A. Lane; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mildred L. Bickford and Dorothy P. Lane; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was predeceased by four sisters, Anna Shubert, Stella Stoddard, Sophie Newton and Michalena Sonia; as well as a brother, Henry Shubert.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and also to Dr. Austin and everyone at the Hospice House. The loving care all of you gave to Mom these past three years made a huge difference in her quality of life.
