AUBURN — The seventh annual LA Summer Block Party presented by Uncle Andy’s Digest raised a record-setting $112,000 and counting for Make-A-Wish Maine. It’s the single largest external fundraiser in Make-A-Wish Maine’s 29-year history.
The average cash cost of a wish is $7,000 and Make-A-Wish Maine has over 115 children in some stage of the wish process.
The Aug. 14 fundraiser featured live music, auction items and a Kids Zone featuring a 95-foot inflatable obstacle course. It was backed by longtime sponsors, donors and in-kind supporters.
The LA Summer Block Party has raised more than $475,000 for Make-A-Wish Maine since its inception.
