LEWISTON — Kathleen Casey, 97, of New Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, April 17, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in East Parsonsfield on March 4, 1914, the daughter of Harold C. and Florence M. Day Berry. She went to high school in Cornish and graduated from Farmington Normal School.

She married Earl Cameron Casey in the late 1930s in Belfast. She was a school teacher, a home demonstration agent in Hancock County, she worked at Pineland and for Maine Manpower. She was a member of the Rebekah’s and enjoyed crafts. She was very well traveled, including trips to Germany, France and Hawaii. She did everything but go up in a hot-air balloon.

She is survived by a son, Dale Casey, and his wife Bonnie; six grandchildren, Anita, Wanda, Sherry, Katrina, Colleen and Aaron; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy; and two brothers, Coleman and Freedom.

She was predeceased by her husband; and a sister, Mertice.
