LIVERMORE FALLS — As the song goes, “rainy days and Mondays always get me down.” What happens when the two are combined? As we enter the shortest days of the year, depression is rampant in society. It is important that we reach out to our neighbors to check up on them- whether that be by phone, zoom, or socially distanced coffee! What do you do to keep away the winter blues? Although I love the long days (I like June 21st is my favorite day of the year), I love December. I get to drive along and look at all the lights. Some homes go for the all white lights, others go for multi-color, or a mixture of the two. Either way, every home display is unique. It is a good reminder that each one of us is unique. Some homes have many lights (like the one at the corner of 133 and 156!). Others have simple candles in each window. No matter how much light there is, it always drives out the darkness. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”- Martin Luther King Jr. How do you let your light shine in this world? Each of us has a light to shine, and even the smallest amount of light can drive out darkness. In this season, where we are trying to get the Christmas shopping done, decorate, work, and are all suffering from COVID fatigue, it is easy to let our light go out. But we must persist in bringing light to the world. Christ is the light of the world, he has lit each and every one of us. Let us drive out darkness through Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Blessings, Pastor Forrest The Week Ahead:Tuesday 10am- Bible Study at Church                9-10am, 11-12p Pastor’s Office HoursThursday 1pm-Choir RehearsalSunday 9:45am- Sunday School              10:30am- Weekly Worship              11:30am- Coffee Hour*As a reminder, as we follow all CDC Guidelines, if you have not been vaccinated (including your booster) we ask that you wear a mask at church at all times.
