Three cheers to the Auburn Citizens for Responsible Education. I felt it was a bad idea when laptops were provided to students and I think time has proved me right. Schools in Maine are consistently not meeting standards, Oak Hill being the most recent.
I see high school and college graduates who cannot do simple math without the aid of a calculator or computer. Disgraceful. Students in some foreign countries are not allowed to use those devices and have much better trained minds as a result.
Students need to develop their minds, not have electronic devices think for them.
The laptops were a stupid idea, but iPads in kindergarten go way beyond stupid.
