MONMOUTH — Brook Lawrence hit an inside the park home run in the top of the 10th inning and Lisbon held on for a 6-5 victory over Monmouth in softball action Friday.

The Greyhounds (1-1) scored four runs in the top of the first, but the Mustangs (1-1) chased in the bottom half of the frame with three runs. From that point on, the contest settled down into a defensive standoff.

Following a game-tying run in the bottom of the fourth inning for Monmouth, a pitchers’ duel prevented any runs until the 10th frame.

Monmouth scored two runs in the top of the 10th to make it 6-4. But lead-off hitter Kelsie Hilton singled, and advanced on a passed ball, went to third on a fielder’s choice and finally scored on Kirsti HIlton’s single.

Kristi stole second, but on an attempt to steal third, batter’s interference was called for the final out.

Sacopee Valley 14, Poland 2

POLAND — Mackenzie Ross and Rachel Anderson sprayed three hits each to lead Sacapoee Valley to a 14-2 victory over Poland in softball action Friday afternoon.

Stephanie Mullins roped a triple and Ashley Pingree smacked a double as the Hawks scored in five of the six innings, including eight runs in the third frame. Pingree also earned the mound win.

The Knights struggled for five hits, but actually had the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning before Sacopee pulled away. Kate Bridgham had two of those five hits in the losing effort.

Dirigo 9, Carrabec 2

DIXFIELD — Sophomore right fielder Ambyr Wilson had a double, stolen base and scored on a passed ball to assist Dirigo in a 9-2 victory over Carrabec in MVC softball action Friday afternoon.

The Cougars (2-1) climbed the ladder over the first three innings, scoring one, two and three for a 6-0 lead after three innings. Paige Murphy contributed two RBIs for Dirigo.

Ashlee Knight clubbed a two-run shot in the top of the fourth inning for the Cobras (2-1) to shorten the Dirigo lead to 6-2 for the interim.

Alyssa Wade earned the complete game victory for Dirigo.

St. Dom’s 10, Wiscasset 6

AUBURN — Sophomore second baseman Bethany Fox crushed a pair of three-run home runs to power St. Dom’s to a 10-6 victory over Wiscasset in MVC softball action Friday afternoon.

The Saints (2-0) made good use of the long ball as Fox served up six RBIs and Sarah Gosselin chipped in with a round tripper as well. St. Dom’s posted eight runs in the home half of the fourth inning to take an 8-5 lead.

Kayla Sproul posted a game-leading three hits for the Redskins (0-2).

Oak Hill 11, MCI 2

WALES — Alyssa Rouleau and Lauren Hall tallied three hits each as Oak Hill sailed to an 11-2 rout over MCI in softball action Friday afternoon.

The Raiders (4-0) tagged the Mustangs (1-3) in five of six innings, while preventing the herd from scoring in all but the top of the sixth inning. Kate Wood went 2-for-3 and posted a triple for Oak Hill.

The catcher, Kat Swedburg, notched the only extra base hit for MCI with a double.

Lewiston 14, Morse 8

BATH — Lewiston seized control by scoring eight runs in the third inning and then held off a Morse comeback to post a 14-8 softball triumph over the Shipbuilders.

The Blue Devils (2-2) scored the game’s first 14 runs before surviving Morse (2-3) scoring the game’s final eight runs over the final three innings.

Tamra Roy hit a two-run double to lead Lewiston’s attack. Shyan Baillargeon and Heather Michaud both contributed two-run singles. Baillargeon, Michaud and Erica Brochu all had two hits for Lewiston. Lewiston pitcher Kati Dumais struck out three and allowed seven hits for the win.

Emma Seeley hit a double for Morse.

Medomak Valley 1, Leavitt 0

TURNER — Erica Christensen drove in the game’s only run on an infield hit in the fourth inning to lead unbeaten Medomak Valley to a 1-0 triumph over Leavitt in a KVAC softball game Friday.

Kasey Benner’s triple proceeded Christensen’s game-winner on a slow roller. Christensen was the lone repeat hitter.

Desiree Benner scattered four hits and struck out 13 batters for Medomak Valley (4-0). Adie Newton struck out 10 and limited the Panthers to three hits.

Cony 10, Oxford Hills 9

AUGUSTA — Molly Russell singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally Cony to a 10-9 victory over Oxford Hills.

Oxford Hills (4-1) stormed back with three runs in the sixth to tie the game at 8-8 before surging ahead with a run in the seventh. Cony, though, scored twice in the bottom of the seventh for the win.

Brianna Martin and Dayna Schultz had four hits apiece for the Vikings and Toney Cray added two hits. Winning pitcher Emily Soule had  a triple for Cony (4-1).

Fryeburg 6, Wells 0

FRYEBURG — Sarah Harriman fired a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts, to send Fryeburg to a 6-0 victory over Wells.

Ashley Watkins led the offense with two doubles and a single while Carla Tripp chipped in with three hits for Fryeburg (4-0).

Madison 6, Mt. Abram 3

SALEM — Madison remained unbeaten Friday with a 6-3 victory over Mt. Abram in an MVC softball game.

Mt. Abram (0-2) led 3-2 after four innings. The winning run scored on an error in the sixth inning.

Alix Howard and Molly McCafferty shared pitching duties for the Roadrunners (0-2).
