
The seventh annual Rangeley Winterpaloozah, a celebration of winter activities and competitions held Feb. 20 at Haley Pond, was a success, according to the Rangeley Skating Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
The event included skating, curling, pond hockey, kick sleds, horse and wagon rides, along with a marshmallow roast and snow golf. There also were three pay-to-enter competitions, with prizes awarded to winners in each competition.

Winners of the competitions were:
Dog Keg Pull: Small Dogs, Terry Guen and Hannah McMillan with Cassie; Medium Dogs, Nancy and Gary Perlson and Scout, a four-time champion; and Large Dogs, Laura Metivier and June.
Cardboard Sled: Best Design, Brooklyn Mahoney and Izzy Paridis with “The Rainbow Queen”; and Race, Sophie Walsh, “Monkey 5.” The time was seven seconds.
Firewood Toss: Men, Pete Clancy 60 feet, five inches, 2020 defending champion; and Women, Laura Sodono, 26 feet, one inch.
Buoy Ball: Men, T.J. Crow; Women, Kathie Marquis-Girard; and Youth, Quinton Richardson.
The local business community supported Winterpaloozahwith prizes for the competitions as well as the horse and wagon rides with Ken’s Fellas, Bert and Ernie.
