Barbara A. Aliberti

AUBURN – Barbara A. Aliberti, 77, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022.

A graduate of Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing, her highly respected career spanned 37 years with Central Maine Medical Center. Barbara earned certifications in specialties of neuroscience, physical rehabilitation, and nursing administration.

During her career she was awarded Maine Nurse Manager and Maine Rehabilitation Nurse of the year. Both had great meaning to her, as she was nominated by her professional peers. Barbara was a former president of the Maine Council of Nurse Managers and served on the organization’s Board of Directors. She also published editorials related to nursing practice and management.

Of all of Barbara’s accomplishments her three children and three grandchildren brought her the most happiness. They will remember her as the best to ask advice of, share news with and she was a great listener. She had the ability to turn any event from ordinary to extraordinary.

In her retirement she continued favorite activities by taking dance classes, reading, listening to music, poker/game days and traveling. She was also active in organizing events for her Lewiston High School class of 1962, taking joy in getting everyone together.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life, share memories and laughter at a memorial gathering on Thursday, March 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston.

She will be remembered by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Her children will be holding a private burial at a later date. Arrangements by the Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023.
