On Aug. 19, Garrison Keillor’s cross-country “A Prairie Home Companion Summer Love Tour” will make a stop at State Theatre in Portland. The popular radio host and his pals will present passionate duets, hot jazz, Catchup, English Majors and Poesy, and feature the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band and sound effects wizard Fred Newman. While not a “Prairie Home Companion” broadcast show, the performance will include many favorite radio show elements — Guy Noir Private Eye, the Cowboys Dusty and Lefty — and will include all the latest News from Lake Wobegon. Tickets are $85, $75 and $50. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20. Call 800-745-3000, visit the Cumberland County Civic Center or log on to www.statetheatreportland.com. The State Theatre is at 609 Congress St. For more information, visit www.PrairieHome.Org or www.statetheatreportland.com.
