Eleanor J. Ward
AUBURN – Eleanor J. Ward, 79, a resident of Jay, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 26, 1942, in East Livermore, the daughter of Walter Eugene Ward and Hilda Mae (Norris) Ward.
She was a 1961 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and received her associate degree from the University of Massachusetts.
Through the years she owned a chicken farm, worked as a bookkeeper, data entry clerk, manager of Irving Oil Company in Calais, and for the State of Maine. She attended church at the First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and you could guarantee no one ever left her home hungry. Family members could always look forward to a card from Eleanor. She loved sending them for any occasion along with a long personal note letting everyone know what was happening with her and her family. Eleanor also loved going for scenic rides, which always included stopping along the way for a bite to eat.
She is survived by her sons, Gerard LeBlond and wife Barbara of Georgia, Lawrence LeBlond and wife Celeste of Jay, her daughter, Laurie Hill and husband Mike of Virginia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brothers, Raymond Ward and wife Ceneretta of Jay, Walter Ward of Jay, Kenneth Ward of East Livermore, David Ward of Livermore Falls, and Keith Ward and companion Prudy of Livermore, her sister Belinda Poland and husband Wesley of North Turner; and former husband Lorenzo LeBlond and wife Elaine of Livermore Falls.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Kevin Ward, sisters-in-law, Karlene and Paula Ward; and best friend and “partner in crime” Sheila Castonguay. Messages of condolences may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Haines Corner Road, Livermore Falls, Maine.
