LEWISTON — For the second year in a row, a CMCC student has been selected to participate in the Exploring Transfer program at Vassar College. Nicole Kearns of Lewiston, a computer technology major, will attend the five-week program from June 17 to July 22.
For more than two decades the Exploring Transfer program has introduced community college students to the academic rigor and stimulating environment of a four-year liberal arts college through this intensive summer program on the Vassar campus in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. During the program, students enroll in courses that are team taught by a faculty member from Vassar and a community college.
Students who are selected receive a scholarship from Vassar that covers the cost of the summer program, including tuition, room, board, books and supplies. In addition, the Maine Community College System provides financial assistance for travel expenses.
More information on Vassar’s Exploring Transfer program is available online at www.mccs.me.edu/student/et.html.
