FARMINGTON — Emblem Club No. 460 will host the Maine State Association of  Emblem Clubs this weekend.

More than 80 participants have registered from all over Maine and some from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, member Shannon Smith said.

The weekend begins Friday night with a catered lobster dinner served at the Comfort Inn where most are staying, she said.

On Saturday, the Young Marines will participate in opening ceremonies starting at 9 a.m. at the Elks Lodge in West Farmington.

A special Memorial Service honoring all departed members takes place at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Elks Lodge. Some members of the local club have formed a choir and have been practicing, she said.

The local club is hosting the event this year because member Diana Oliver is president of the State Association, she said.
