Yesterday a hunter from Portland shot a turkey on my neighbor’s property, damaging the house and car and barely missing my neighbor.
How can a hunter be so careless and inconsiderate of private property? What is wrong with the mentality of some hunters?
The game wardens arrived an hour later with their working dog. They worked diligently for eight hours and found all the evidence they needed. It was like watching a crime show on television. Those guys are great and deserve a lot of credit for what they do.
As far as the hunter — will he learn from his costly mistake? Probably not.
I guess my point is that personal property can be repaired, but a life cannot. The incident could have had very serious consequences.
