Almont “Monte” A. Wing Jr.

LEWISTON – Almont “Monte” A. Wing, Jr., 85, a resident of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. He was born on May 19, 1937, in Leeds, the son of Almont A. Wing, Sr. and Clara (Veinott) Wing-Morris.

He received his GED in 1978 through Lewiston High School. Monte proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 – 1966. He married Paula C. Marston in Leeds. They were married for 59 years until her passing in 2021.

Monte was a mechanic and worked at Fordland in Auburn for 17 years and then for the State of Maine Department of Corrections for over 15 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Tranquil Lodge #29 in Auburn and the Kora Legion of Honor.

Monte enjoyed all types of country singers, especially, Johnny Cash, the “Man in Black”. He also loved playing guitar and singing to anyone that would listen.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Duguay of Turner; grandchildren, Hali and Hunter Duguay and great-granddaughter, Laila Duguay; siblings, Ronald Morris, Merton Morris and Sonia Plourde; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife; and siblings, Richard Wing and Laura Morris.
